Why uploading Word directly often goes wrong
KDP accepts DOCX, but it converts whatever is inside the file, including tabs used as indents, extra blank lines, manual page breaks, mixed fonts, and pasted-in styles. On a Kindle these become uneven indents, blank pages, and chapters that start mid-screen.

Do you accept Google Docs or Pages files?
