Picture books & kids' books
Children's book formatting for Kindle and Apple Books
Picture books need every illustration and line of text exactly where you designed it. We build fixed-layout eBooks that keep your spreads intact on Kindle tablets, iPads, and the Kindle app.
- Fixed layout that preserves every illustration
- Single pages or two-page spreads
- Read Aloud (narrated) EPUB option
- Tested on Kindle Fire, iPad, and phones
Why picture books need fixed layout
A normal (reflowable) eBook lets text move around, which is great for novels but breaks picture books: text drifts away from illustrations and spreads split apart. Fixed layout locks each page, so readers see your book exactly as designed. Amazon supports this through its Kids' Book format, and Apple Books supports fixed-layout EPUB 3.
Where it helps the reader, we add Kindle text pop-ups so small text can be enlarged, and for Apple Books we can build a Read Aloud edition that highlights words as the narration plays.
